I have a passion for dentistry and enjoy the wide variety of procedures that I get to perform each and every day as well as the chance to develop long term patient relationships. I believe patient education is an essential component of quality dental care so knowing that my patients fully understand their current oral health as well as all their treatment options is extremely important to me.

In my free time I enjoy traveling, music, skiing, tennis, and taking care of my three pet goldfish. I live in Minneapolis with my wife, Leslie, and we enjoy exploring the city and cooking together.

Dr. Hovda is the best dentist I have ever experienced! He has a calm and caring presence. He explains my treatment options with risks and benefits to each option. He listens intently with eye contact when we interact. I feel he truly has my best interest at heart. He asks several times if I have any questions during each visit. I followed him from the Savage to Burnsville location even though it is farther from my home. Again, he is the best!
