Get to Know Dr. Annette Dunford

This week in our “Get to Know the Park Dental Doctors” feature we’re profiling Dr. Annette Dunford at Park Dental Eden Prairie.  In her profile, Dr. Dunford shares her treatment philosophy, what she enjoys about being a dentist, as well as some fun facts about her personal life.  Check out her profile to learn more!

What made you choose dentistry?
I have been drawn to healthcare and wanting to help people since 1^st grade, dentistry encompasses both.

What do you love most about being a dentist or what do you find the most rewarding?
The pure joy on the face of my patients when they appreciate my provided dental treatment or they realize the fruition of preventive education.

What’s your care/treatment philosophy?
Working as a team with my patients and providing complete oral health in the form of quality dentistry tailored to their specific situation.

Is there a particular area of dentistry you enjoy the most or like to focus on?
I love crown, bridge and implant work, especially when it involves the smile (upper front teeth). However, I take utmost interest in making my patients comfortable during treatment (pain-free anesthesia, bubble blowing for infants, etc.).

September 2003

What is one thing you love most about Park Dental?
That Park Dental is doctor owned and operated with the philosophy of quality care – every step of the way.

What do you enjoy most about being part of a group practice?
Collaboration and support – for all.

• What did you want to be when you were a kid?
  A dentist  
• What was your very first job?
  A server at an Italian restaurant
• What do you like to do on your days off?
  Spend time with my family and dog, especially in nature.
• What’s your favorite food or drink?
  Seafood/Egyptian licorice herbal tea
• Who is your hero or who inspires you?
  My adult children inspire me to lean and new things/activities.
• What is an interesting fact that people may not know about you?
  I sewed my own wedding dress.
• If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
  New Zealand
• What’s your favorite movie?
  Fried Green Tomatoes
• What’s your favorite genre of music to listen to?
  Soft rock
• What are your hobbies?
  Sewing, knitting, gardening, painting, hiking
• What’s your favorite holiday?
  Christmas
• Do you speak any other languages?
  Danish, German, Norwegian, Swedish and a bit of French
• Are you scared of or have a fear of anything?
  Recently over came my fear of heights by repelling in Moab, UT with our son.
• What’s your favorite thing about living in Minnesota/Wisconsin?
  The incredible North Shore area/nature all around us.
• Do you have any hidden talents?
  I’m pretty decent at interior design and painted a wall mural.
• What’s your favorite season?
  I love having all four seasons.
• What’s your favorite color?
  Blue
• What’s your favorite animal?
  Dog
• How many different states have you lived in?
  3, but on my 14^th address. I have visited 38 states!
