Get to Know Dr. Stacey Wolken

Meet Dr. Stacey Wolken!  Dr. Wolken practices at Park Dental Eden Prairie and is the next doctor we’re introducing you to in our new feature, “Get to Know the Park Dental Doctors”.  In her profile, Dr. Wolken shares what she appreciates about the group practice setting, and what she finds most rewarding about being a dentist.  Enjoy learning more about Dr. Wolken.

What made you choose dentistry?
I always wanted to be a medical doctor, but my hometown dentist convinced me to shadow her and consider dentistry.  I loved it and changed paths.

What do you love most about being a dentist or what do you find the most rewarding?
I love the relationships and trust built over the years of caring for patients.

What’s your care/treatment philosophy?
Prevention is best!  I treat every patient as a unique individual and understand their goals for health and esthetics.

Is there a particular area of dentistry you enjoy the most or like to focus on?
I love functional esthetics – “engineering” and designing beautiful smiles that work with a patient’s bite.  Dr. Pete Dawson changed how I practice dentistry, and I thank Park Dental for the advanced education.

When did you start or how many years have you been with Park Dental?
I started in 2006 and have been with Park Dental for 15 years.

What is one thing you love most about Park Dental?
I love collaborating with my peers – there isn’t a day that goes by without us looking at a case together.

What do you enjoy most about being part of a group practice?
Being able to share knowledge to best serve our patients and having the ability to focus on care, knowing the business is taken care of by our doctors and other key leaders.

• What did you want to be when you were a kid?
  A mom and a teacher
• What was your very first job?
  Dishwasher at Sammy’s Pizza
• What do you like to do on your days off?
  Be with my family, especially weekends at the cabin in the summer.
• What’s your favorite food or drink?
  Pizza – I could eat it every day!  Sammy’s is the best!
• Who is your hero or who inspires you?
  Dolly Parton
• What is an interesting fact that people may not know about you?
  I was a hockey cheerleader in high school, on ice skates!
• If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
  Italy
• What’s your favorite movie?
  When Harry Met Sally
• What’s your favorite genre of music to listen to?
  Country – Kenny Chesney
• What are your hobbies?
  Fitness (Peloton) and entertaining
• What’s your favorite holiday?
  4th of July because we have our entire family at the cabin.
• Do you speak any other languages?
  No, but I would love to learn Spanish because both my boys are in Spanish immersion school.
• Are you scared of or have a fear of anything?
  Alligators
• What’s your favorite thing about living in Minnesota/Wisconsin?
  The season, especially lake/cabin season
• What’s your favorite season?
  Summer
• What’s your favorite color?
  Green
• What’s your favorite animal?
  Dogs – I have two!
• How many different states have you lived in?
  Only Minnesota
